It’s no secret that Squaw Valley produces top skiers. Take Marco Sullivan, Julia Mancuso, Jonny Mosely and Shannon Barhke—just to name a few. And now for the second time in four years the Squaw Valley Ski Team was awarded Alpine Ski Racing Club of the year by  the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).

The award will be given at the USSA Congress 2009 Chairman’s Awards Dinner on May 15, 2009. “The club of the year is presented to a USSA Competition Club in each sport, which has distinguished itself in providing direction to young athletes through high-level competition programs resulting in  athletic success,” says USSA CEO Bill Marolt.

“A huge part of our success comes from the overwhelming support from the various departments around the mountain. It is the commitment from the mountain and the incredible terrain we have to train on that enable us to produce the racers we do, year after year,” says Squaw Valley Ski Team Head Coach Mark Sullivan.
