The Olympics are near and consequently, teams are going overtime on preparation.  This is the year of the bright lights for snow heroes.  This week, the Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) has all three of its teams training at Mammoth Mountain.

The snowboard team has been holding down the upper mountain superpipe since May 17th.  This week, the pipe junkies have been joined by their Canadian Brew mates, the alpine snowboard team and snowboardcross team.

Summer training for winter’s upcoming glory.  “The summer training camps are a key component to the success of our teams. Coming off our best season ever with 26 World Cup and World Championships medals, the real work now begins in our last stretch before the 2010 Games,” said said Christian Hrab, Director, High Performance for the Canadian Snowboard Federation. “Our goal remains to increase training intensity to improve Canada’s performance with quality results on the FIS World Cup Tour as well as peaking for the 2010 Games.”

All three teams will be logging extensive airline miles over the next few months.  Canada, the U.S. (Mt Hood), Argentina, New Zealand, and Australia will all serve as summer spots to hone the skills.
