For ski resorts, the report cards keep coming in for the 2008-09 winter season.  Pinned to the shirt of the Aspen Skiing Company (ASC):

That is the number of skier visits to its four mountains and the parents are proud.  Extrapolating the 1.3 million skier visits and breakin’ it down MC style:

733,597 = Snowmass
304,052 = Aspen Mountain
199,431 = Aspen Highlands
126,976 = Buttermilk

The numbers were not a repeat of the pre-AIG era of yesteryear, but the decline was much less than what was projected.  Aspen Skiing Company Senior Vice President David Perry praised his coworkers and neighbors. “We have been saying all season that we expected numbers to be down.  The fact that we are in the lower end of this range is good news and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Aspen Skiing Company and the entire community.”

Big congrats to ASC on the fat 1.3 million skier visits.  If visual cues help you digest large numbers, check out The Dice-O-Matic below.  This contraption generates 1.3 million rolls a day.
