Yawgoo Valley: Biggest Little Ski Area in the Union

Yes, Rhode Island is tiny and relatively flat. Yep, it’s responsible for Dell’s frozen lemonade, coffee milk and Dunkin Donuts. It’s also known and loved as the Ocean State. But surprise! RI actually has its very own ski area, Yawgoo Valley. We’re talking 245 feet of goodness.

Before you laugh, let us remind you that great things can come in small packages. The little resort packs four ski lifts, twelve trails and 30 acres of skiable space. There’s also a terrain park and the serious chance that you’ll get to know your fellow skiers and riders. (Perhaps not in the biblical sense, but at least you’ll ski away on a first-name basis.) And like most ski resorts around the country, this one’s also bursting with summer activities.

In true Little Rhody style, Yawgoo Valley is set to open their water park on June 20th. We’re talking three pools and two water slides. You can reserve the park for company outings and birthday parties. And of course, enjoy as we are, the fact that the biggest little state in the union has a ski area. With 245 vertical feet.
