When Squaw Valley opens for the upcoming 2009-2010 winter season, mountain enthusiasts will be able to experience many new improvements to the resort that calls Olympic Valley, California its home.  In addition to celebrating its 60th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of hosting the VIII Winter Olympic Games, the resort will roll out new ski and snowboard programs, a new triple chair lift, and increased snowmaking capabilities.  In addition, a new restaurant, “39° North Latitude,” is scheduled to open at the top terminal of the Funitel, which is Squaw Valley’s 28-person gondola.  Environmentalists should take note that the restaurant was constructed from 100% recycled and locally produced sustainable building materials.
