Vail Resorts to Change Recruiting Tactics, Hire More U.S. Workers

Vail consistently ranks among some of the world’s best ski resorts and has a history of hiring international workers to cater to the skiers, snowboarders and guests that flock to the resort from all over the world.  These international workers collectively speak more than 30 languages, and make up 4 percent of Vail Resorts’ staff of 16,000 employees.  However, due to “unpredictable economic conditions in the U.S,” according to Vail’s employment website, skijobs1.com, and the cap on visas that are granted to international workers, Vail has decided to turn more of its attention to hiring domestic workers.  It is recruiting these workers in major U.S. markets, and also in summer seasonal places like Martha’s Vineyard.
