Telluride to Open Two More of the Gold Hill Chutes This Season

It’s been a gradual opening of the Gold Hill Chutes.  This season will see the opening of Chutes Two through Five.  These chutes have long been favorites of local skiers with the serious skills required to navigate.  The chutes are couloirs, above tree line, with a steep drop of 1600 feet.

Telluride has added two WWII-era howitzers to its avalanche mitigation arsenal.  Hence the opening of the chutes to the public.  Terrain expansion has been a big part of Telluride’s mountain improvement the past few years.  If you’ve yet to hit up the new Revelation Lift, might I inform you that it’s all time.

Season passes are on sale now at Telluride, including a College Pass for $299.  Check the site to find a pass that works for you.  Financing is available.
