Boreal to start its season this weekend

This weekend the Boreal Mountain Resort will turn on its Castle Peak Quad chairlift and celebrate the earliest opening the resort has ever seen.  Officials at the resort have stated that the opening might happen earlier if “snowmaking stays as productive as it has been recently.”

The resort will open with its 5th annual Jibassic Public Invitational Event on Saturday and Sunday.  Skiers and snowboarders are invited to perform tricks for their chance at a piece of the $2000 being given away.  Judges for this event include Boreal staffers and Robbie Sell from FUEL TV.

According to reports, “Boreal’s lift will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lift tickets for ages 5-12 will be $15, ages 13 and up $30. A park will include six to 10 features. Season passes will be valid. Boreal’s early season operation is weekends only Fridays through Sundays until further notice, or as conditions permit.”
