Dogs in the pool in Steamboat for Hot Springs Poochie Paddle

Steamboat is known and loved for a lot of things… Among them a happening little town with musical bars, great snow and seemingly endless terrain. But if you’ve never been to the hot springs, you’re missing out. Established in 1935, the pools are fed by water originating from the Heart Spring, which bubbles at a soothing 102 degrees. (Way back when, the Ute Indians dubbed the springs ‘Medicine Waters.’)

This Sunday, October 18, you can bring your dog, too, as the Old Town Hot Springs is hosting a Poochy Paddle. Dogs are welcome to swim in the lap pool from 2-5:00. (After that, the pool will be emptied and cleaned.)

Aquatics Director Jill Ruppel recalls the success of the Spring Paddle. “Some of the dogs were hesitant at first to get in pool water but they soon got over it and were leaping off the sides chasing balls.”

Sign up in advance for $5 per dog or pay $10 per dog at the door on Sunday.
