So-Cal residents watching the flurry of openings in Colorado got a boost of early season happiness as Snow Summit in Big Bear began making snow as temperatures dropped into the 20s last night.

Big Bear Mountain Resorts General Manager Brent Tregaskis told Catherine Sandstrom of Big Bear News, “We had a really great night of snowmaking—almost 6,000 gallons per minute. We’re really trying to get as much snow made in this window as possible. Our goal is to open Central Park at Bear Mountain in the near future.”

The near future, hear that So-Cal friends?  Snow Summit is the king of snowmaking and their world class terrain parks will soon be open.  Until then, you can check out the Big Bear snowboarding flick, Parkumentary Part 1 below.
