Ditch the Lions for the Ladies: Aspen Winternational World Cup November 28 & 29

While the NFL serves up bad football on Turkey Day, Aspen is serving up Lindsey Vonn the day after Turkey Day.  The women’s World Cup descends on Aspen for two races, a GS (giant slalom) and a slalom.  Lindsey Vonn in the flesh, not on Conan, not on the red carpet, but on skis doing the remarkable.

If there’s been a waffle in your Aspen for Thanksgiving holiday plan, Winternational is the reason to make it happen.  Vonn, the two-time overall World Cup champ and star of her own new Under Armour commercial, waxes lovingly about the great mountain town.  “Aspen is such an incredible venue for racing.  The crowd there is always so supportive of all racers. I love seeing all the young racers with posters. We get such a boost racing in front of a hometown crowd. I’m hoping Vancouver feels just like Aspen.”

Aspen and Snowmass are both slated to open Thanksgiving day.  Where would you rather be, stuck to your couch watching 300 pound sumo wrestlers (note to NFL game directors: zoom out on passing plays, at least to the linebacker drops so we can actually see the game) or do you want to be in an Amphitheater of Nature watching Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso?

Rhetorical question, I know.  Advance to lodging deals here.
