Bolton Valley Ski Resort in Vermont will have a first this year: It is the first ski resort in Vermont to install a wind turbine, and only the second in the country to do so.  The turbine will be powering the chair lifts at the ski area, and will generate $33,000 worth of power.  It cost $750,000 to install, and was built by Northern Power Systems, which is a local company.  Officials at Bolton Valley say that it is a good fit for a wind project because the ridge of the mountain is already developed.  The ski resort would like to install two additional turbines so that it can completely generate its own power.
