Vail Mountain kicks off the season in style beginning this Friday

It’s the time of year that everyone has bee waiting for, and Vail Mountain is not making guests wait any longer.  The legendary ski resort will open its doors for the 2009-2010 ski and snowboard season this Friday at 9 a.m.  There will be free skiing and boarding on the Born Free Trail in Lionshead, and lift tickets for all terrain will be $69 for adults, $59 for seniors, and $45 for children that are 12 and under. There is also access to boxes and rails at the Born Free Terrain Park.  To see all that will be going at Vail in the early weeks of the season, click on! 





Opening weekend at Vail will bring a large amount of festivities and great offers.  Everything kicks off in Lionshead on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. with music, giveaways, and $1 croissant breakfast sandwiches.  Later that night, be sure to bring your drinking shoes as the first ever Snuggie Pub Crawl presented by Bud Light will take place at 7 p.m. in Vail Village.  Those who participate will receive a free Snuggie and a chance to win a pair of K2 skis, two VIP passes to Vail Snow Daze, and tickets to Yukon Kornelius.  On Saturday, a free Freddy Jones Band concert will rock Vail Square in Lionshead at 3 p.m.  The Vail Marriott Resort & Spa, the Lodge at Vail, and Arabelle at Vail Square will all have special opening weekend room rates starting at $99 per night.  




In addition the opening weekend festivities, Vail will be giving guests entertainment all throughout December as well.  Vail Snow Daze, which is the ski resort’s winter kick-off bash, will be from December 7-13.  Barenaked Ladies will take the stage during the bash on Saturday, December 12 at Ford Park.  There will also be parties, giveaways, and on-mountain events, including the Dummy Demolition Derby and the first annual free Chili Chowdown.  







Last but certainly not least, to enjoy all the mountain fun, you must purchase your Epic Season Pass.  The unrestricted, unlimited pass is on sale through Sunday, November 22.  The pass is available for $599 for adults and $299 for children ages 5-12 and can be used at all five Vail Resorts–Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Heavenly, as well as at Arapahoe Basin.
