I LOVE NEW YORK, which is New York State’s tourism promotion agency, has announced three winter promotions for the upcoming ski and snowboard season.  New York state has nearly 100 downhill and cross-country ski areas and 48 ski resorts in 11 different regions.  The first promotion is “4th Graders Ski for Free,” which will apply at more than 25 participating resorts.  Applicants will receive a passport which has coupons including free all day lift tickets, with the purchase of an adult lift ticket.

The second promotion is a “Ski and Stay” package, which will be offered for the weekends of January 9, February 6. and March 6.  Guests who book a weekend package can get a third night’s lodging and skiing or boarding for free at participating ski resorts, such as Gore Mountain, Greek Peak, Holiday Valley, and Hunter Mountain.

The third promotion is the “Frequent Skier Card” that is being offered by the Catskill Association for Tourism Services and their five resorts.  The card entitles skiers and boarders to 20 percent off lift tickets throughout the season at Belleayre, Hunter, Windham, Plattekill, and Holiday Mountain.  The card is available for $25, but it is not valid on holidays and cannot be combined with other offers.
