Team from Stratton Mountain School has 12 top-10 finishes

Stratton Mountain, Vt.–‹Stratton Mountain School (SMS) hosted the first East
Coast races of year at their home mountain on Sunday, Dec. 6 and Monday,
Dec. 7. SMS girls, Emily Bamford ¹10, Paige Chardavoyne ¹10 and Marley
Pawlak ¹10, swept the podium for the girls¹ Slalom (SL) on Monday. Bamford
also finished on the podium for Sunday¹s Giant Slalom (GS) race, while
Chardavoyne and Pawlak were in the top 10. For the boys, Nick Krause ¹11
finished in the top 10 for both races.

Bamford, from Australia, beat the field on Monday by four seconds with a
combined time of 1:33.74. Both her first and second runs were the fastest on
the course. Her consistent skiing earned second place during the Sunday GS
as well. 

Chardavoyne, from Glenmont, N.Y., clinched second place for Monday¹s SL and
10th place for Sunday¹s GS. Pawlak, from West Dover, Vt., also maintained
top-10 finishes for both races, walking away with third place for SL and
fourth place in GS. Tamara Razinger ¹11 and Claire Hamnett ¹12 rounded out
the girls¹ top 10 for SL with 6th and 9th place, respectively.

Just behind Krause¹s 7th-place finish, Eric Rasmussen ¹11 finished in eighth
place and Tanner Mottau ¹12 took home 10th. Krause, from Northborough,
Mass., stayed within the top 10 during Sunday¹s GS, taking home 9th place.

The boys¹ alpine program is headed to Attitash, N.H., for National Junior
FIS races on Dec. 17-20. The girls alpine program will compete next at
Sunday River, Maine, on Dec. 16-20.
