As TSC reported yesterday, Crested Butte Mountain Resort was considering filing an appeal against the U.S. Forest Service in response to the decision to reject the ski resort‘s proposed expansion onto Snodgrass Mountain.  Well, that appeal was officially filed today, as Crested Butte has asked the Forest Service to initiate a public NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) process for the Snodgrass extension.  The expansion of Snodgrass would increase the amount of intermediate and advanced terrain by 276 acres that three lifts can service.  The appeal was filed with the Regional Forester in Denver and Forest Supervisor Charlie Richmond has 30 days to respond unless the time is extended.
