If you don’t have New Year’s plans yet, then consider a getaway to Smugglers’ Notch Resort in Vermont.  Check out the information below we received from the ski resort:

Smugglers’ Notch Resort located in northern Vermont is offering a 25 % discount on the Club Smugglers’ Advantage Package for the weekend of January 1 – 3, 2010. This brings the cost of a two night / two day stay to only $129 per person per night for a family of four in a studio accommodation with the full inclusions of the package; $210 per person per night for a couple in a studio accommodation.

The Package includes: top-rated condominium lodging in Smugglers’ Village, daily lift tickets ($110 value), daily all-day ski or snowboard camps for 3-5 year olds, daily lessons for kids 6-17 years old and beginning adults, and a Saturday or Sunday group lesson for intermediate-expert adults. Guests may also attend a wide variety of family programming indoors (examples are the Wacky Wizard Science Show and the FunZone Family Play Center Party; also swimming) and enjoy outdoor adventures such as Snow Tubing, Winter Walking and outdoor ice skating. The lift pass includes access to Smugglers’ 30 km of cross-country trails and 24 km of dedicated snowshoe trails.

The length of time guests actually spend relaxing and enjoying their holiday is preserved at a weekend getaway in a purpose-built Resort Village such as Smugglers’ where all activities and facilities are located within a close walk or short ride on the free on-demand shuttle. Children’s ski and snowboard camps and lessons are carried out by the experienced professional staff of the Snow Sport University that assures parents their offspring will be well cared for and engaged while they enjoy free time for their own outdoor pursuits.

Adults may appreciate a quiet dinner at the Hearth & Candle Restaurant where candles light the Birchwood dining room reserved for the over 21 crowd and attentive service and nouveau American cuisine are the hallmarks. Treasures day care center can help guests arrange a private care giver for their youngsters in Village condominiums. Adult entertainment takes place nightly at Bootleggers’ Lounge in the Village with Friday Night Karaoke and Saturday Night a 70s/80s Dance Party in the lineup.

This season Smugglers’ Notch introduced the Flaik GPS system which is included in the all day camps for kids or may be rented for $19.95 per day. The phone-sized tracking device is attached to the upper arm or the leg above the boot. When users logon to the Flaik website with their own i.d. they can trace on the Resort’s trail map where they have skied during the day; the vertical, number of miles and fastest speed are calculated. This information can be shared with family and friends for a fun look at the day’s adventures.

Additional active and quiet activities are available in Airboarding, snowmobile tours, dog sled rides, massage, craft workshops and many others. For the depth and variety of programs and activities Smugglers’ offers, the Resort took the #1 award for Family Programming for the 11th year running as voted by SKI magazine readers.
