Crested Butte to host Roger Pepper Camp for teen burn survivors

Crested Butte is using its fabulous ski resort to do a little something different from January 17-23: It will host the Roger Pepper Camp, which gives teenage burn survivors a chance to enjoy the mountains and all they have to offer.  This year’s camp has 11 new and returning attendees from Texas, Florida, Missouri, and Washington.  They will all have the opportunity to ski and snowboard, as well as ice climb in Ouray, Colorado.  The Adaptive Sports Center will lead the activities, and all of the attendees will share a home in the mountain town.   Allison Massari founded the camp in 2001, as she nearly died in a car accident but was pulled out from her burning car by Roger Pepper.  Massari will attend some of this camp, and she will share her story and advice to the group.
