The Tamarack Club at Holiday Valley is now open

Yesterday was a very exciting day in Ellicottville, NY, as the The Tamarack Club at Holiday Valley Resort opened to the public.  Over 300 people attended the celebration, and check out more information and details below on the new property:

January 14, 2010, Ellicottville, NY . . . The Tamarack Club at Holiday Valley is a slope-side condominium-hotel with four star amenities. This fractional ownership project is the largest single expansion in Holiday Valley’s 50-year history.

The concept of a large full service hotel/condominium has been part of Holiday Valley’s long range plans for over 20 years. Four years ago, Holiday Valley’s land planning consultant suggested a fractional ownership property. Fractional ownership meets the needs of current resort property ownership in terms of limited vacation time, the ability to use the facilities throughout the year, the desire for luxury and four star amenities at an affordable price and the ability to exchange for a vacation in another location. After extensive research, Holiday Valley chose to partner with Terry Elsemore of Fractional Strategies. Mr. Elsemore had a strong background in sales and marketing of fractional properties at several leading Eastern resorts. Richard Fox of Weber Murphy Fox won the Design/Build contract. Once the approvals were in, the pre-sales of units began in December, 2007and built to a record pace. As soon as the project was 60% sold, construction began with the groundbreaking ceremony in April, 2008. After 18 months, construction was completed on December 12, 2009 and the first guests arrived on December 18, 2009.

The Tamarack Club is located adjacent to the Clubhouse Chalet and at the base of Cindy’s, Mardi Gras, Creekside and Morning Star chairlifts for ski-in/ski-out convenience. Families appreciate the close proximity of the Creekside Lodge Children’s Ski School and the Day Care Center. The Tamarack Club condominium units range from 465 sq ft studios to 1,800 sq ft Executive Suites. Fifty-nine of the 79 units are one and two bedroom lockout configurations that can be separated into two units. The lockout feature allows the owner private use of their unit, while being able to rent out a separate deluxe hotel room. Owners may also choose to rent their entire unit.

The condominium interiors are completely furnished and the full kitchens are fitted with high-end finishes. Each full unit has a gas fireplace and most have a balcony. These vacation properties are offered as either traditional whole ownership or as one-fifth share fractional interests, for purchasers who may visit with less frequency. Prices on fractionals start in the mid $60s and are truly cost effective, even for those families that would only rent seven to 10 nights a year in the Ellicottville region.
