If you volunteered at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, search the back of the closet for your volunteer jacket and head to Snowbasin Resort on Saturday, Jan. 30. The host venue of the men’s and women’s downhill events is celebrating its Olympic heritage a couple of weeks before the 2010 version cranks up in Canada.

Volunteers wearing a 2002 jacket can purchase a lift ticket for $30, compared to the regular price of $65. The resort is organizing a group photo of everyone in their volunteer jackets at the base of the Needles Express Gondola at 2 p.m.

The 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah had about 8,000 volunteers for activities leading up to the games and 18,000 core volunteers for the competition. Another 6,000 volunteers worked for the accompanying Paralympic Winter Games.
