Avalanche conditions lingering in Sun Valley area high country

According to the Sawtooth National Forest Avalanche Center, which gives snow and weather information for the area surrounding Sun Valley, recent storms and strong winds have contributed to avalanche conditions existing in the high country.  The Center also said that extra caution is necessary for steep, upper elevation areas, and that many of these slopes have a shallower snowpack than people would expect.  Skiers and riders must be cautious when finding their routes, since there hasn’t been a consistently solid spring snowpack in the high country.
