Tensions mount as hundreds wait for the start of the 2010 Canadian National BBQ Championships in Whistler, BC. A celebration of all things BBQ, this world-renowned competition will take place Friday July 30th to Sunday August 1st at one of North America’s most famous ski resorts.
“For 9 years we have been hosting the National BBQ Championships at Dusty’s and every year it gets bigger and better,” says Joshua Kearns, Dusty’s Manager at Whistler Blackcomb. “With delicious food and great music, the BBQ Championships are a great way to spend the weekend with friends and family in Whistler.”
This year’s festivities will begin at 7:00PM on Friday, with an introduction by BBQ legend Jim Ericson. Winners will receive $5000 in cash and prizes, and an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship BBQ event in Lynchburg, Tennessee. In addition to the competition, attendees can look forward to a masterfully slow-cooked hog dinner on Saturday, live music by The Hip Show, and a variety of other surprises. We can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon break from the slopes.
