A top-to-bottom opening for Mammoth Mountain tomorrow, Thursday

A combination of natural and man-made snow has Mammoth Mountain ready to turn on their lifts for the winter season starting Thursday, November 11, 2010. The mountain received 1-3 feet of natural snowfall on Sunday night (11/7/10) and temperatures have remained cold enough to allow snowmaking to continue around the clock all week.
The following lifts are expected to run for opening day: Broadway Express (Chair 1), Face Lift Express (Chair 3), Thunder Bound Express (Chair 6), Discovery Chair (Chair 11) and the Upper and Lower Panorama Gondola. Mammoth Mountain currently has a base depth of 18 to 36 inches of natural and man-made snow and will have 12 trails available accessing over 2,000 vertical feet of rideable terrain including Cornice Bowl from the summit of Mammoth Mountain.
In addition to providing top-to-bottom skiing and boarding, Mammoth will debut a variety of new features in its world-famous Unbound Terrain Park. Among the new offerings are a new urban stairset with three down options, a new brick urban planter box and a new concrete ledge. A selection of early-season jumps and other assorted rails and jibs will also be available.
Mammoth Mountain has a variety of activities on- and off-mountain running through the weekend including the world premiere of “Another Day in Paradise” presented by Mammoth Mountain and Snowboarder Magazine on Saturday, November 13, 2010 followed by a concert by The Sounds at Canyon Lodge.
All ages are welcome to the free outdoor premiere of “Another Day in Paradise” in The Village at Mammoth. The movie is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The concert is open to ages 21 and up and the doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and are available by calling 800.MAMMOTH, visiting MammothMountain.com or at any Mammoth Mountain ticket window.
Lodging Packages are available that include two nights of lodging and two tickets to The Sounds starting at only $129 per person per night*.  Call 800.MAMMOTH or visit MammothMountain.com for details.
