Just in case America’s posh skiing mecca did not have quite enough luxury lodging already, Montage Deer Valley opened Thursday at the ski resort in Park City, Utah. Located mid-mountain at Empire Canyon, the new ski-in, ski-out hotel has 154 guestrooms, plus more than 66 suites and private residences. Montage Deer Valley also includes a 35,000-square-foot spa. To add a little blue-collar entertainment to the luxury, the hotel’s pub has four regulation bowling lanes and pool tables.
“We are excited to open Montage Deer Valley in one of the most breathtaking settings in North America. Our first mountain resort complements our flagship resort in Laguna Beach and our city hotel in Beverly Hills,” said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder and CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts.
While the amenities may be cushy, the new hotel actually sits amidst Deer Valley’s most demanding terrain. Montage Deer Valley is just steps from the Empire Express chairlift that accesses Daly Bowl and Daly Chutes, an unusually challenging section of the ski area best known for pristine groomers. Hotel guests also have easy access to a variety of slopes off the Ruby Express and Lady Morgan Express chairlifts.
Keeping with the current trend of environmental sensitivity in the construction of luxury properties, Montage Deer Valley is registered to be LEED certified. A standard double room of 600 square feet at the Montage currently starts at $675 a night.
