Diamond Peak hosts weekly ‘Last Tracks’ wine events

The clamor for powder-day first tracks on the KT-22 lift at Squaw Valley is legendary, but “Last Tracks” on another corner of Lake Tahoe may also be memorable. Diamond Peak ski area hosts Last Tracks Wine Tastings on Saturdays in February, March and April. Groups can also set up the same arrangement for private events on other evenings.

The community ski mountain for Incline Village, Nev., takes 45 reservations for each Saturday public event at the mid-mountain Snowflake Lodge overlooking Lake Tahoe. For $29 per person of legal drinking age, guests receive a lift ticket to start skiing at 2:30 p.m., then head up to the Snowflake Lodge for the wine-and-appetizer party at about 4:30 p.m. During the tasting, a snowcat freshly grooms one intermediate run for everyone to ski back down as a group at sunset or 6 p.m. at the latest.

Reservations for the Last Tracks Wine Tasting events may be made on the Diamond Peak website.
