Salt Lake City, UT — A County government board will vote to decide whether to allow Snowbird to construct a mountainside roller coaster. The Salt Lake County Board of Adjustment denied Snowbird’s initial application citing that it wasn’t a now related activity. Snowbird countered saying the coaster is similar to other ski resorts year-round attractions.
Today the board is due to consider this plan for a second time. The county’s planning commision has already green lit the resorts plan for the coaster. Environmental groups are opposing the new construction.
