Telluride Ski Resort is well-known for providing its skiers and snowboarders with a top rated culinary experience when frequenting their slopes. When dining at any one of their many restaurants one could easily compare their experience to an establishment in New York and Los Angeles. Not content to rest on their laurels, Telluride has once again set the bar even higher for resort dining with the additions of Bon Vivant and Tomboy Tavern to their roster or restaurants.

Now open, Bon Vivant cultivates a dining experience unlike anything found in North America. The name refers to an individual who enjoys the good things in life, most specifically a connessoir of food and drink. This definition takes life at the newest restaurant to grace the slopes of Telluride. The structure is surrounded by natural beauty, features a staff that is prepared to provide sincere elegant service, and serves luxury beverages and masterfully crafted culinary dishes. Anyone who is a fan of dining on the mountainside has got to visit Bon Vivant to experience a slice of the good life!

To get up to Bon Vivant, one must merely hop a ride on the Polar Queen Express, which is accessible for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The building’s structure consists of a 1500 square-foot deck under a state-of-the-art 39-foot umbrella.

The extensive menu features French classics that range from crepes to cassoulets, with custom cocktails and ski country’s best chocolat chaud. Highlights include Foie Gras Torchon and Duck Rillete, Quiche Lorraine, Duck Confit and Elk Sausage Cassoulet. Lamb and Chimay Ale Stew, Lobster Gnocchi, and traditional Croque Monsieur and Madame with quail egg and shaved black truffles.

There has been a bar placed at the base of the umbrella that features craft cocktails and beers including the French 105, named for Telluride’s 105mm avalanche control Howitzers, with Kru82 Vodka and Blanquette de Limon Champagne. Bon Vivant is open daily during the season from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Down in the Mountain Village the most popular restaurant and bar has been completely remodeled and renamed. What you may have known as the Hop Garden is now dubbed the Tomboy Tavern. The new bar is open for business with 32 local, craft beers on tap, expanded seating and a new full wraparound bar to compliment Telluride’s best outdoor beer gardern which is located under the big yellow umbrella. There will be a Grand Opening party held on January 14th.

The Tomboy Tavern is named after one of Telluride’s most famous mines, which further showcases the area’s rich history. The menu has been assembled with the entire family’s tastes in mind, with such favorites as the Tavern Burger, schnitzel, ahi sandwiches, salmon, steaks and much more. They boast a specialty Nutella Vanilla Bean Milkshake that you have to taste to believe, and even can set you up with some homemade S’mores to enjoy with the kids.

Telluride Ski Resort takes great pride in offering the highest quality dining experiences in ski country, with nine different restaurants ranging from family to fine dining. Compared to other mountain destinations around the world, Telluride offers an unmatched culinary experience, which has been taken to even greater heights thanks to the newest additions of Bon Vivant and Tomboy Tavern.
