Park City Mountain Resorts, named “#1 Family Vacation” by SKI Magazine, are raising the bar on their class offerings this winter with the exciting addition of the I Ride Park City Freestyle Camp. It is an idea inspired by the “I Ride Park City” video episodes, which feature innovative athletes showcasing their skills in the terrain parks while capturing it on camera.
Campers must be between the ages of 9-15 years old. And while camps are geared towards intermediate and advanced, kids can have any level of park experience. They simply must have the drive to take their skills to the next level.
In a total of three days, kids will learn all-mountain skill development and park and pipe instruction in a private progression park built specifically for the camp. On top of that, everyone will be brushing up on their filmmaking skills, as each camper will leave with a digital video they help shoot and edit. Watch out Facebook and Youtube; this is the next generation of pros!
Students will be in small groups of no more than five to each coach, creating an environment in which everyone can be with people at his or her own level. Whether they’re learning their first jumps, moving into the Eagle Superpipe or fine-tuning a 540, each skier or snowboarder will see drastic improvement over the course of the camp.
There will be five sessions of this innovative new camp beginning with Presidents’ Week. It will be held Thursday-Friday, February 22-24. Spring Break sessions run March 13-15; March 20-22; March 27-29 and April 3-5. With the $450 price tag come a lift ticket and includes lunch. Without the lift ticket, the total come to $330. Each session is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
