Shaun White to Host at Northstar

Shaun White will be hosting Northstar California resort’s 40th Birthday bash on Saturday December 22nd, exactly 40 years to the day that the resort opened for skiing. 

 Guests will get a chance to hang out with the two-time Olympic gold medalist, while enjoying the many holiday festivities the resort has to offer such as live music and a 70's costume contest.

 Kids ages 7+ can sign up for the Burton Snowboard Academy Kids Clinic, which will include a special visit from Shaun White himself! The lesson includes a Burton snowboard rental, all day coaching and an all day limited access lift ticket providing access to beginner lifts and terrain. Spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis so sign up today!

 “I’m honored Northstar asked me to help them celebrate their 40th birthday. In true Northstar fashion, we’re going to do it big,” said Northstar team athlete, Shaun White. “I’ll be giving out snowboarding pointers at the Burton Academy Clinic and doing some après celebrating in the Village.  If you want to get your skis on earlier in the day be sure to sign up for the 40th anniversary First Tracks and Breakfast. Advanced skiers and riders ages 13+ will have access to the mountain starting at 7:30 a.m. with special access to the mile-long advanced trails on the Backside before opening to the general public. The ticket only costs $80 and includes a full breakfast buffet at the Zephyr lodge. A lift ticket or season pass is required. Space is limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis.

 Be sure to head over

to the Lodge at Big Springs (mid-mountain) for live music performances featuring “Forget the Roses” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Village Stage (Village at Northstar) will feature a live performance by “Mustache Harbor” from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 Shaun and Northstar COO, Bill Rock will lead a complimentary sparkling cider and s’mores toast at 4 p.m. in the Village at Northstar. Followed by a 70’s costume contest, and an après ski party at Tavern 6330’ in the Village from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. featuring a 70’s ski theme, special après menu and a DJ.
