For the third year in a row, Forbes released its annual rankings of the top 10 North American Ski Resorts. As always, ranking resorts can be tricky and judges based their decisions on a number of factors including quality and quantity of snow, reliability of lifts, skiable acreage, and town and ambiance. The 2015 Forbes rankings marked the first time that British Columbia Resorts were eligible to make the list.

Some notable resorts included in the Top 10 were Vail, Telluride, Mammoth and new comer, Whistler. Surprisingly absent this year were the Sierra Mountain resorts, probably due to snow inconsistency and the brutal winter season of 2013-2014.

Here’s the Forbes Top 10 rankings:

  1. Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
  2. Alta, Utah.
  3. Whistler-Blackcomb, British Columbia, Canada.
  4. Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Utah.
  5. Alyeska, Alaska.
  6. Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada.
  7. Vail, Colorado.
  8. Telluride, Colorado.
  9. Grand Targhee, Wyoming.
  10. Mammoth  Mountain, California.
