#Bear Mountain Ski Resort

A lift ticket purchased through Big Bear Mountain Resorts allows access to both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts. Neither resort offers quality powder comparable to Mammoth Mountain or any of the Lake Tahoe area ski resorts; however, for the two-hour drive out of LA, any snow is worth it!
Bear Mountain tends to cater to more hardcore snowboarders than Snow Summit, with advanced (although considerably short) runs and a well equipped terrain park. Although the region does not receive considerably consistent annual snowfall, Big Bear Mountain Resorts’ snowmaking ability makes the windy treacherous drive worthwhile. Bear Mountain is definitely a fun place to escape the city and rip it up on the mountain, jumps, and at the happening outdoor Beach Bar.
Weekdays are the best times to visit the resort to avoid the super crowded runs and traffic getting up the one lane road to the town. If you can only make it up on the weekend, be prepared to cross paths with a few hot heads and boarders chilling in the the middle of the runs.
Before hitting the slopes, be sure to visit the Lumber Jack Cafe for a reasonably priced scrumptous down home breakfast. Cocina de Mexico, a no frills hole in the wall, serves up fresh Mexican food which definitely hits the spot after a long day on the mountain.
