Killington Insider Tips

Donna Weinbrecht Insider Tips: Killington

Donna Weinbrecht is one of the winningest female skiers in history, having racked up numerous World Cup moguls medals along with World Championship and World Cup titles and the first ever Olympic gold medal for the sport (1992). Here she shares info on her home mountain.

Favorite Resort: Killington, of course!

Favorite Trail: Outer Limits made me the skier that I was on World Cup. Anything I came across on World Cup I could handle because of Outer Limits. Now I love the cruisers. All over the mountain!

Best Powder Stash: On a powder day, we lived closer to Bear, so I roll out of bed and head to Bear which is where Outer Limits is.

But maybe get a run on the Canyon chair at the main mountain, or Highline. You get more vertical there.

I mean, Outer Limits again would be nice, too.

Apres ski: The Lookout Tavern—that’s where I hang out. It’s my sister’s bar. In the old days I’d go to the Night Spot but I don’t think they call it that anymore! I don’t go out anymore really; I love sleep too much.

Michael Morse Insider Tips: Killington

Steamboat resident Mike Morse is one of the top-ranked moguls skiers on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team--not to mention on the World Cup tour. Watch him shred at the Vancouver Olympic Games. In the meantime, here are some of his insider favorites:

Favorite Resort: Killington (Morse grew up skiing at the VT mountain.)

Favorite Trail: Roundabout

Best place to find powder: There is too much powder in killington to name just one favorite.........

Best Apres spot: Pickle Barrel
