Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado USA Ski Resort

Notorious and esteemed for some of the most extreme terrain in the country, Crested Butte boasts more double black diamond runs than any other ski resort in Colorado.

However, Crested Butte ski resort is altering its image slightly with the recent opening of "Camp CB" kids' ski school and several other projects under its new ownership improvement plan. Paralleling the new developments, Crested Butte is opening more groomed runs and luxury accommodations.

But the ski resort isn't neglecting its extreme skiing roots just yet; experts are salivating over the expansion plans for Teocalli Bowl nicknamed Teo II. The extreme terrain improves as the season rolls on and ample snow pack covers the bowls and chutes' many rocks and trees. The 'Extreme Limits' terrain area, home to the annual US Extreme Freeskiing Championships, sprawls over 550 acres of ungroomed back country featuring steep powder filled chutes, gullies, drops and tight trees.
