Bio: He's still somewhat new to the post of Vice President and General Manager at Sun Valley, but Silva has made his presence felt at the fabled Idaho ski resort. He has a passion for quality and doesn't settle for mediocrity. His first job out of college was being a lift operator at Sun Valley, and he eventually ascended to mountain manager. In 1995, he left Sun Valley for Northstar-at-Tahoe, where he eventually became Vice President. He has now returned to the place his career began, charged to develop the resort and increase the winter business revenue. Take note that he was still spending when everyone else slowed. Case in point: the new Roundhouse Gondola.

Company: Steadman Hawkins Clinic

Bio: To say that the clinic he founded in Vail is like an athletic Hall of Fame would be a vast understatement. The list of patients that have gone to the Steadman Hawkins Clinic spans from Joe Montana to Alex Rodriguez, and of course includes Olympic skiing medalists like Bode Miller, Picabo Street, and Julia Mancuso. Dr. Steadman is a pioneer in microfracture surgery, and his clinic has saved the careers of hundreds of professional athletes, who have all been treated with the slopes of the Vail Valley as the backdrop. Countless medals have been won and athletes have been seen on television because of Steadman's handiwork.
