Stratton is getting ready to launch into nine days of President’s Week events with a bang, starting with the Cold Wars Rail Jam this Saturday the 19th. With warmer temperatures since last weekends frigid, groomers have been able to get the hill in pristine packed powder conditions. They are waiting to be carved up.
Registration for the Rail is from 9-10:30am in the Overflow Room. The competition begins at 11am. All ages are welcomed to fight for the swag and cash prizes. But don’t forget your helmet.
The Red Bull Butter Cup, a pro and amateur contest series, kicks off on Saturday, February 25. This event showcases creativity in technical flatland trickery. In typical jam session format, this will be an action-packed event as riders compete for cash and fresh gear. Registration will run you $10 for amateurs and $20 for professionals and will be from 10-12pm. Starting at noon in one hour intervals, the competition will be as follows: practice, amateur qualifying jam, pro qualifying jam, and the finals.
March 3rd at 3pm marks the beginning of Marchdi Gras, a Village block party that will set the standard for all future block parties. Food and drink vendors will line the streets of Stratton Village, including an ice bar with a luge–shots encouraged–that is not to be missed and a full day of live music. Come party in the Big Easy of the mountains. Be prepared for beads.
And a shout out to local Stratton athlete Dillon Lovell for his win at the Freestyle A Meet on his home turf February 12th.
