Whitefish Mountain Resort is enjoying their summer season on Big Mountain with their summer season kicking off last month. The mountain is open daily for action through Labor Day, and Friday-Sunday through September 29 with activity and lodging rates starting at $65 per person.
Since 1947, Whitefish Mountain Resort has welcomed skiers and snowboarders alike, who prefer shredding mountains with smaller crowds, to their location in the gorgeous backwoods of Montana. The resort features a relaxed, fun vibe for visitors enhanced by a variety of terrain and little to no lift lines. When the snow melts in the warmer months of the year, the resort offers thrilling zip line tours in addition to mountain biking. This year the Bike Park is featuring five new trails, which adds five more miles to the Bike Park. For more trail information and the latest conditions visit skiwhitefish.com/trailreport.php.
“Summer is a wonderful time here in Whitefish and the Flathead Valley,” Whitefish Mountain Resort President, Dan Graves, said. “We offer something for all ages from zip lining to a scenic chair lift ride to the summit of Big Mountain. Additionally, our lodging options offer something for every size group and family to stay and play at the resort during their visit.”
The resort offers many adventures guests can experience through a variety of activities including:
- Montana’s only Alpine Slide
- Montana’s only Aerial Adventure Park
- Over a mile of zip lines
- Huckleberry Picking
- Guided nature tours in the forest canopy
- A Scenic Lift Ride with 360-degree views
- A hands-on nature center at 6,817 feet above sea level
- Mountain top dining with views of Glacier National Park
With this many activities and adventures offered, one may need to stay for over a day, which is why Whitefish Mountain Resort offers affordable “Stay & Play” lodging and activity packages. Mountain bikers can take advantage of the “Eat, Bike, Sleep, Repeat” package at the trailside Hibernation House. At just $65 per person, riders receive lodging, a full day bike pass, and a hot breakfast to fuel the day. Rate is based on double occupancy and requires a two-night minimum.
