Gear Heads: Tecnica Moon Boots

Skiers and snowboarders love to defy gravity, just as much as they love to look good while doing it. Seldom does a product come out that captures the perfect embodiment of a culture’s core desires — but Tecnica’s Moonboots achieve just that!

Moon Boots were created back in the early 1970s by a man named Giancarlo Zanatta who grew up in the Italian town of Montebelluna. After watching Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins take those first steps on the moon in their astronaut suits, Zanatta was struck by the unique shape of their boots. Soon after, he implemented the design in a line of snow footwear which became the legendary Moon Boots we know today!

The Ski Channel couldn’t resist popping over to the Tecnica boot during this year’s SIA Snow Show in Dever to check out the latest styles. Prepare for a fashion overload as Tom Berry, Tecnica’s VP of Global Sales and all around awesome character guides us through the new product line and explains why Tecnica’s Moonboots are the ultimate fashion accessory.

Watch as Nate Dogg attempts the The Moon Boot Challenge for a chance to win his very own pair of these bodacious boots! Can he solve the rubrics cube in time?

Watch and find out!
