The bold colors, prints, and high-tech fabrics were definitely out in full force this year at January’s 2013 SIA Snow Show. The show featured some of the best examples of these stylish designs that complement the clothes ability to perform under the harshest winter conditions thrown upon us from Mother Nature.
SnowSports Industries America (SIA) identifies the hottest and latest style trends in snow sports that helps better prepare industry sellers and consumers to buy for the 2013-14 season.
The Snow Fashion & Trends Show at the SIA Snow Show featured the highly anticipated styles of next season that were highlighted by asymmetrical designs and diverse textures with bursts of color. The latest emergence is also the “snow-to-street” concept that includes everything from outerwear to baselayers.
“The Show’s creative energy got us going on what colors and styles to start working on,” commented Holly Aguilera, buyer with Mt. Shasta Ski Park in McCloud, CA.
The Stylesight Activewear Team has engineered reference Trendboards that highlight what the trend forecasters outlined in their Megatrends seminar at the Snow Show and saw on the Show floor. Brands in the snow sports industry plan their lines based heavily on trend forecasters. “We look to Stylesight all the time,” stated Lauren Myatt, women’s product manager for Obermeyer.
