Ski Region Simulator: Grand Theft Auto in a Snow Cat

Check out this hilarious edit created using in-game footage from Ski Region Simulator. The simulation software, which is available for Macs and PCs, gives players the opportunity to run their very own ski area.

While videogames typically serve as a means to escape the monotony of the daily grind, it is not out of the ordinary for some to simulate activities that one could have easily embarked upon in the real world. Titles such as the Sims or Facebook’s Farmville lead gamers to happily undergo tasks in a game that they probably neglect in real life. It’s a bit ironic in some sense, but when contrasted with more extreme titles such as Grand Theft Auto — its nice to know people have a safe outlet to release their internal impulses — whether its cultivating a green thumb, or an itchy trigger finger.

The real comedy of this video and Ski Region Simulator lies in the way you play. You can do things by the book, or you can see where your imagination will take you.

Anyone that has ever dreamed of getting behind the wheel of a Pistenbully snow groomer has come to the right place — just don’t lose your plow, otherwise your snow cat will get sad (cue “Walking Away Song” from the Hulk).
