The Ski Channel Moguls series continues with Mike Hattrup, a pioneer in the world of skiing and mountain sports videos. The video introduces Hattrup as one of the early stars of skiing and his role in some of the top skiing videos. Hattrup talks about his early days in the sport and how he grew his passion. For Hattrup, joining a freestyle camp at an early age helped enhance his skills to compete. In competition, Hattrup fared well against competitors. Hattrup added that freestyle was bigger than racing in his time, compared to now.
Hattrup explained what the Goon Squad was and what is was like being a part of it. These skiers “snuck” into concerts and movies. Hattrup even recalls the process it took to “sneak” into these events and theatres. He also goes into his first film appearance in “Time waits for Snow Man” by Greg Stump. Finally, discussing “Blizzard of AAHHH’s” and how it took skiing films to the next level. Also, brought in Glen Plake’s role in the film.
