Mikaela Shiffrin made history with her very first career victory in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom event in Are, Sweden.
At just seventeen years old, Shiffrin is now the third youngest American to ever win an Alpine World Cup event. She sits behind
Judy Nagel at 17 years, 5 months, 12 days and Kiki Cutter at 16 years, 7 months, 1 day.
The level at which she skied was simply amazing!
When asked about her thought process during her performance, Mikaela responded, “I was just trying to fly.”
